Vubiz recently released a new Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action online course to provide vital training for companies that do business with the government or hope to do so. Companies must comply with specific government regulations regarding employment, and failure to comply could result in significant fines, loss of government contracts, or suspension of contracts.
Specifically, companies must comply with the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations. This elearning course outlines the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action initiative (EEO/AA) and presents employment practices that help comply with EEO/AA requirements.
Women, minorities, disabled persons, and veterans continue to be underrepresented in the U.S. workforce at a rate less than their availability within relevant labor markets. Ongoing efforts are necessary to attract and fairly consider members of these groups for employment opportunities.
Affirmative action refers to taking proactive steps to attract all qualified individuals to employment opportunities and to ensure that candidates are evaluated fairly using non-biased, job-related selection criteria.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the adverse impact and how it applies to decisions
- Understand organizational exposure and risk
- Justify actions and decisions to the OFCCP
- Justify hiring decisions
- Justify promotion selections
- Justify termination decisions
- Justify compensation decisions
- Identify the influences that impact employment decisions
